This suit weighs about 56 pounds (25 kg), and when combined with the portable life support system (PLSS) and additional equipment, weighs a total of 189 pounds (86 kg) here on Earth. "This suit, which was used to walk on the moon, is one of three custom-fitted suits that were provided to each Apollo astronaut. One suit was for flight, one for training, and one was provided as a back-up."
